I love New York and I love the Beach. As I was planning my vacation I thought it would have to be one or the other. But I was wrong. As I began my search for a hotel in New York that would offer me the luxury of both. After spending hours of internet browsing my eyes became weary, then suddenly something caught my attention, it was… The Allegria. As it turned out, I could have both, my wish was fulfilled … And some!
With the hopes that the experience would live up to the beautiful photos on the website, I took the risk and booked a room. After traveling for 18 very long hours through timezones; sleep deprivation and jet lag set in very quickly. From the stillness of Sweden to the hustle and bustle of New York, I must say I had expectations of possible culture shock.
My ride finally pulled up to the entrance of The Allegria, Long Beach, New York. This was not what I pictured it would be, it was ten times better…my body slowed down just by the scenery, it was truly breathtaking. We grabbed our bags and walked into the Allegria. It was like coming home to an old friend, you know, the friend who never left, rejuvenating.
As we sat in the room the first night and watched the sunset over Manhattan and simultaneously the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean, I can assure you, no jet lag in the world could stop the bliss and gratitude going through my body.
The ambiance is exquisite and the warmth and care from the wonderful staff, made us feel as if we were living in a castle. The views from every room left my soul yearning for more, I couldn’t get enough. Even with a few challenges the staff handled everything in a timely and courteous manner and left an impeccable impression with myself and my guest.
And that old friend feeling is now actually a new friend, but from now on I will always consider the Allegria and the people there, as old friends.
A piece of my heart will always be there, waking up in the morning overlooking the beach, reminding me that there is so much beauty in the world.
There is no doubt in my mind that we will meet again. As old friends tend to do.
